Alain Kieffer is an ambitious and talented luxembourgish guitarist, playing as well accoustic as electric guitars. Even though he loves blues and blues-rock most, he also likes to play classic-rock, folk or country. He succeeded in developping his own style of playing by studying guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Doyle Dykes, Walter Trout, Jimmy Hendrix, Angus Young, Steve Vai and many more.

Alain On the Road

When performing on stage, he shows his audience what it really means to play guitar: to love the instrument, to feel the passion and to give its all. It is much more than speed and flash and pedals; it’s about closing your eyes and allowing your heart and soul to be one with that piece of metal and wood. No matter how small the audience, be sure to experience that Alain’s one of the few to play for the fun of it.

It all began when he started playing the guitar at the age of 14 as an autodidact, before getting further instructions by George Winter.

As a teenager he played in a band formed by some of his friends, but unfortunately, the band was to fail due to the different opinions and music preferences of its members. Nowadays he sporadicaly meets Guy the drummer for a spontanous jam session.

Meanwhile he played on his own, making progresses and learning some other techniques like fingerstyle pickin’ or usin’ a slide. Alain started to perform solo on stage back in June 2000, when he got the occasion to participate at the “European Music Festival” in Echternach. At that time, he used to play mostly unplugged.

After he has had some more gigs, he came to know Mike Christmann (former member of Big Deal) who was interested in the music Alain played until then. They decided to jam together on their accoustic guitars and soon they set up a new program combining Alain’s existing setlist (Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker and B.B. King) with tracks by bands like The Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bad Company and pieces they composed on their own.

In March 2002, Alain joined the luxembourgish band Pilli Pilli , which celebrates hot classic-rock and where he has the opportunity to experience what it means to play within a band.
